The holidays are now upon us. I'd like to extend my deepest holiday wishes to all those celebrating at this time of year. Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas! Buon Natale! It has been an intense and eventful year for me with the making of the new record as well as, some personal matters (which you can read about in my blog) Thank you to everyone for your continuing support. I am eternally grateful for all the interest and enthusiasm. I look forward to sharing more with you in 2008!

BUDS TAKE BLOOM - THE ROSE TATTOO RELEASE IN SPRING '08

I can feel it coming, really it's coming. Could be because of my Italian heritage that when I embark on a project, I will work on it until it has been finely shaped. Like a fine Barolo or delicate espresso, nothing leaves our hands half done. Whatever the medium, we will pour all our devotion and passion into making a fine piece of work that is worth the attention from others.

The road to recording The Rose Tattoo has been a fantastic journey. I've been fortunate to work with Greg Kavanagh this time in producing a record that builds from where my last record left off; with a few surprises along the way. I've written a full account in my blog entitled "The Road to the Rose". It will make you laugh, it will make you cry. It will make you eat copious amounts of chocolate.

We are also filming a "Making of The Rose Tattoo" which will have behind the scenes footage of the recording process, interview with me about what it was like making the record and live footage of the band. The EPK is being shot by renowned documentary filmmaker Karen Shopsowitz.

WHAT'S ON MY iPOD?

Ron Davis' "Subarashii Live". And not just because he is my husband but because this is really a great work. Recorded live at Paul Hahn's Pianos in Toronto, this record features a smoking band, awesome arrangements and outstanding original compositions. I think Ron has come finally into his own with this recording.

Annie Lennox's "Songs of Mass Destruction". I LOVE her! Always did. Her voice is at its finest on this record, pulling deep within herself and giving her heart right out to you in her hands - bypassing the sleeve.

Feeding my blues bug with R.L. Burnside's "Acoustic Stories". A man with his guitar - and the blues. Right to the heart.
